The 8th grade basketball team traveled to Franklin Central Flashes last night to take on the Flashes. The first half was a defensive battle, as both teams struggled to find consistent scoring. The Dogs struck first, jumping out to an early lead behind a pair of first-quarter three-pointers from Brady Wilburn and Roman Easton. The Bulldogs held a 7–5 advantage midway through the opening period. Offense would be hard to come by the rest of the half, however, as the Bulldogs were held scoreless in the second quarter. That drought allowed the Flashes to take control and carry a 13–7 lead into halftime. Scoring picked up for the Dogs in the second half, but they were unable to keep pace as the Flashes gradually pulled away for a 36–21 victory. Brady Wilburn led the Bulldogs with 10 points, while William Walters paced the team on the glass with five rebounds. The Bulldogs head into winter break with a 3–8 record and will look to regroup and refocus for the final stretch of the season.
